COMMUNITY BAND BOARD MINUTES
Members Present:
George Blair, Betty Crews, Nel Hamilton, Greg Rumford,
Steve Shoyer,
Jinny Thompson, Cindy Rose Wolpert
Ex Officio:
Ray Laffin
Secretary’s Report: The
minutes of the last meeting, February 1, were approved
based on George’s O.K.
Treasurer’s Report: No
report was handed out. The February 1 Balance is
$4580.49. There was no income for the month. Expenses
were: $14.95 TRK Hosting, $500.00 to Kim Fong and
$8.90 – Pepper for a total of $523.85. The current
balance is $4056.64.
Upcoming expenses will include cost of Stand Lights.
Steve made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report;
Nel seconded the motion and it was approved.
Continuing Business:
1 MARCH 31 CONCERT: March 15: No
band, but sectional practice for Clarinets & Flutes.
The schedule for practice for the March 31 Concert was
reconfirmed: March 29 and 30. Ray needs 100 flyers by
first part of next week. 500 flyers will be sent to
Friends of Band.
Ray passed out program for the concert.
Greg had a sample of the Stand design
which will be used for the concert. They are not
finished yet. The stand lights will be ready and used
for the concert. 30 Stand lights are in.
New Business:
1. Partners of Progress (IGA) Cindy
proposed that the band apply for points. Customers of
IGA can name the band to receive points from their
purchases. More information is needed.
2. Dress for the March 31 Concert.
After much discussion, a motion was made by Steve
and seconded by Cindy that we buy Red Bow ties and
Cummerbunds to be worn with white shirts. Motion
passed. (The choir women will be wearing black with red
scarves and the men white shirts with red bow ties &
cummerbunds). Betty will confirm these arrangements
with the choir.
The next meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on
